Do you have any idea or concept for your own wedding?
How does your wedding dress look like?

Same as invitation cards, we also put a lot of effort on wedding dress.
There were 3 wedding dresses - Western, Japanese, Chinese.

1：Western Style White Wedding Dress
I guess that to many girls, wearing white dress on wedding is their dream.
Rental of wedding dress in Japan is super duper expensive, 
(according to the internet, averagely about 200k yen, about RM 8,000! Wow!)
So we decided to go back to Malaysia and rent.

Because of my work, we went back to Malaysia in just about a week before the wedding.
So, while doing other preparations, we have only 1 week to look for the ideal wedding dress at the same time.

To us, the ideal wedding dress is simple and not fancy, 
thick material and has no over exaggerated decorations.
When we told the staff that we are looking for something simple and not fancy,
we actually found that the "simple" in our minds was very different from the "simple" in most of the shop staff.

Finding the satisfied white dress was much more difficult than I imagined.

We visited almost the all the bridal shops in Batu Pahat. (my hometown).
During that, we were so lucky to meet a few very helpful staff.
Even though we couldn't find wedding dress that we like from their shops,
they tried to introduce other bridal shops to us.
I remember when I said thank you, 1 of them answered
"You have only 1 week, I only hope that you find your satisfied one." 
That was really touching and grateful.

Fortunately, we were introduced a bridal shop(that was not opened yet by that time): Jocelyn Make Up Studio.
We finally found a quite ideal white dress there. 
My coat and my wife's hair accessories were rented from there too.
So, we became their first customer(before their opening)!
Wedding dress in Jocelyn Make Up Studio had very good quality,  and the boss Jocelyn was very friendly also.

跟請柬一樣，我們也為婚紗下了很多心思。
新娘禮服總共有三套—洋，日，中。

1: 洋式白色婚纱
我想，穿上白紗結婚是很多女生的夢想。
由於在日本租婚紗太貴，（根據網調平均要20萬日元，相當於8千馬幣！）
所以我們決定回去馬來西亞租。

因為我的工作的關係，我們在婚禮的大約一個星期前才回去馬來西亞。
也就是說，在做其他籌備的同時，我們只有不超過一個星期的時間找婚紗。

我们理想中的婚纱，是简单不花俏，布的质感偏厚並且没有多余装饰的。
当我们告诉店员我们要求“简单不花俏”的设计时，
我们发现，往往我们心目中对“简单”和店员们心想的“简单”，似乎有很大的差异。

尋找满意的白色婚纱，比我想像中的还要难好多。

我们幾乎找了全峇株巴辖（我的家乡）所有的婚纱店。
过程中我们遇到几位很友善的店员，
即使我们在她们店里找不到合适的婚纱时，她们还主动介绍其他的婚纱店给我们。
记得有一位在我答谢她时这样回答我
“你们只有一个星期的时间找，我只希望你们找到满意的”。真的即感动又感激。

最後，我們在介紹下找到了一家當時還未開張的婚紗店：Jocelyn Make Up Studio。
我們在那裡找到了極為滿意的白色婚纱。
我的外套以及太太的首飾，頭飾也是在跟他們租的。
就這樣，我們成為他們（開張前的）第一位顧客！
Jocelyn Make Up Studio的婚紗質量都很好，老闆Jocelyn的服務態度也很棒。

理想的なウェディングドレスはどんなものですか？
ご自身の結婚式についてアイデアやコンセプトを持ってますか？

招待状と同じように、ウェディングドレスにもこだわりを持ちました。
花嫁衣装は3つありました：洋、和、中です。

1：西洋風の白いウェディングドレス
結婚式に白いウェディングドレスを着るのは多くの女性の夢ではないかと思います。
日本のウェディングドレスのレンタル代は非常に高いと聞きましたので、
マレーシアで借りることにしました。

私の仕事のため、式の約一週間前にマレーシアへ帰りました。
他の準備と共に、その一週間で私たちはウェディングドレスも探さないといけませんでした。

私たちの理想的なウェディングドレスは、シンプルで、
生地がしっかりした感じで、余計な装飾がないようなドレスです。
しかし、私たちが思う「シンプル」と、
店員さんたちが思う「シンプル」には大きなギャップがあることが分かりました。

理想的なウェディングドレスを見つけるのは、想像以上に難しかったです。

私たちは、私の故郷であるバトゥパハのほぼ全てのブライダルショップで探しました。
その中で、私たちは何人かのとても優しい店員さんに出会いました。
彼らの店で私たちの欲しがるウェディングドレスが見つからなくても、
自ら他の店を紹介してくれました。

感謝したら、
「だって、あなたたちには一週間しかないでしょう、
私はただ満足できるウェディングドレスを見つけて欲しいと思うだけです。」と
一人の店員さんに言われました。感動と感謝が溢れます。

結局、私たちは紹介で、当時オープン前のブライダルショップに出会いました。
Jocelyn Make Up Studioという店です。
そこで私たちはやっと、なかなか理想的なウェディングドレスを見つけました。
私のジャケットと、妻の髪飾りとアクセサリーもそこで借りました。
これで、私たちは（オープン前の）最初の顧客となりました！
そこのウェディングドレスはクオリティも高く、オーナーのJocelynさんのサービスも良かったです。

Our Wedding - Invitation Cards | 我们的婚礼 - 请帖篇 | 私たちの結婚式 -招待状

Do you have any idea or concept for your own wedding?
How does your ideal wedding invitation card look like?

My wife and I are both traditional person.
Since our marriage crosses two culture,
We think we should respect and also mix with each other.
So we set the theme to "Maintaining and Crossing both traditions".

Firstly is to decide the theme colours.
To symbolise happiness, Chinese likes Red & Gold while Japanese likes Red & White.
Therefore, we decided to use "Red, White and Gold".
On the cover, we use Chinese character "Double Happiness" and the Japanese Tai fish.
(In Japanese, auspicious is medeTAI)
The illustration may look simple but actually we drew it ourselves and edited many many times.
Because we both like woodblock prints, so we used repetitive layout.

As for the inside pages, we chose to use the traditional Chinese style.
However, I actually paid a lot of efforts on the layout, using a grid layout,
to make the words look more tidy and comfortable to read.
Also, on many invitation cards(for Chinese people like me in Malaysia),
people write something like: "Please be puncture". I removed them.
Because I didn't want to "cheat" my guests.
(Usually wedding dinner for Chinese in Malaysia will be late for an hour. It's a "Culture"!)

Finally is about printing.
We chose silver card, because it's simple & elegance.
I would like to say thanks to the printing press as the quality of the finished product is very good.

你對自己的婚禮有很多想法或概念嗎？
你心裡理想的請帖是怎麼樣的設計？

我和太太都是喜歡傳統的人。
我們的婚姻，是兩個文化的交叉，
既然有兩個文化，我們覺得應該互相尊重和融合。
於是我們把婚禮的主題定為保持傳統，並互相融合。

首先是主題色。
象徵喜氣，華人喜歡紅與金；日本人喜歡紅與白。
所以我們把主題色設定為“紅，白，金”三色。
在請帖封面上，我們用了華人喜歡的“囍”和日本人覺得有喜氣的“鯛魚”。
(鯛魚日語念TAI，跟“可喜可賀”的MedeTAI相近）
看似簡單的鯛魚圖案，其實是我們自己畫的，修了好多次。
也因為我們都喜歡版畫的感覺，所以我們採用了重複式的排版。

至於內頁，我們選擇用傳統的中文寫法，
只是在排版上我下了功夫，用的是網格佈局(Grid Layout)，
讓字看起來更整齊舒服。
還有，一般上請柬上會寫“敬請依時／守時”之類的字眼，我把他們去掉了。
因為我覺得既然沒有真的決定準時入席那還是別欺騙我的客人。

最後是印刷，
我們選擇了帶點銀色的卡片，簡單高貴。
特別感想印刷廠的合作，成品的品質很好。

ご自身の結婚式についてアイデアやコンセプトを持ってますか？
理想的な招待状はどんなものですか？

私も妻も、伝統が好きです。
私たちの結婚は二つの文化が混ざるので、
それぞれの文化をお互い尊重し合いながら、共存するべきだと思いました。
そのため、テーマを「伝統を守りながら、共存させる」にしました。

先ずはテーマカラー。
めでたい色として、中国（私はマレーシアの華僑）では赤と金、日本では紅白。
そのため、テーマカラーを「赤、白と金 」に設定しました。
めでたい表現をするため、表にはチャイナっぽい「囍（ダブルハピネス）」と日本っぽい鯛を使用。
一見シンプルな鯛のイラストですが、実は私たちの手書きで、何回も修正をしました。
それに、二人とも版画が好きなので、版画っぽいレイアウトにしました。

中身については、中国の伝統的な書き方にしながら、
グリッドレイアウトを使用して、
読みやすいように工夫をしました。
また、一般的にマレーシアの結婚式の招待状には「時間厳守」のような文字が書かれますが、私はそれを無くしました。
（理由はマレーシアの結婚式は時間通りに始まらないのは周知の事実で、私は嘘をつきたくありませんでした。ちなみに一般的には１時間遅れの開始）

最後に、印刷についてです。
私たちはシンプルで上品な銀カードを選択しました。
昔から付き合いのある印刷屋さんに特別な協力を頂きました。
最終印刷物の品質は非常に高くてとても満足しています。

1. 既然一開始就不打算準時入席，那就不寫“敬請依時／守時”之類字眼。
2. 自己的名字要寫在下面，表示謙虛。

Do you have idea about your own wedding?

I believe that every unmarried will most probably
imagine about their own wedding when they attend one.

Since me and my wife are both  in Japan,
to prepare our wedding in Malaysia was really a hard work.
Therefore, we try to simplify things as much as we can.
However, there are still some details that we want to do in our own way,
as wedding is lifetime memory.
Before I forget, let me write down the story of our wedding.

[Pre Wedding Photos]
How does your ideal pre-wedding photo book look like?
In Malaysia, generally people take pre-wedding photos before wedding.
Some shoot in studio, some shoot on location, and some even shoot overseas while traveling.
Japan has no such habit, so my wife actually doesn't have much requirements for that.

Since both of us prefer things to be nature and my wife is not used to posing,
we decided to shoot some nature and memorable pictures.

Therefore, we chose the most memorable location for both of us,
the place where we met each other - Our University.

The photographer is my classmate in Japanese language school, Mr Fujie.
Fujie comes from Taiwan, he is now a well-known professional photographer in Japan.

No exaggeration, no posing,
we just wanted to take photos of our memories during our uni life.
Beside our university,
we also went to the share house I used to live in, it's also a place full of our memories.


Most people print their pre-wedding photos into photo album.
Those very big and very heavy one.
Compared to those big one, my ideal photo album is small and portable one.

When I was in uni, I attended some photography classes and
learnt about arranging photos for photo book.
So I printed all the chosen photos, arranged them ourselves.

Printing of the photo album was ordered online.
Printing industry in Japan is really brilliant and we love the final outcome of the photo album.

To me, the ideal wedding photo album doesn't have to be too "exaggerate" or too big.
Instead, it should be memories of your own story, print them smaller and portable,
which can be put on your bookshelf,  take a look whenever we want.

我和太太身在日本，要遠距離籌備自己的婚禮不容易，所以我們盡量簡化。

「婚照篇」
你理想的婚照是什麼概念？
在馬來西亞，一般上結婚前大家都會拍婚照；
有朋友在攝影棚拍，有朋友拍外景，甚至有朋友特地出國旅遊拍攝。
日本沒有這習慣，所以太太對婚照沒有太多要求。

我們喜歡自然，加上太太不習慣擺姿勢拍照，
所以我們決定拍點自然而有回憶的照片。

於是攝影的場景就設在我們邂逅的地方-我們的大學。

攝影師是我在日語學校時的同學張富傑；

沒有婚紗，不擺姿勢；就只想拍回我們大學時代的回憶。
除了在大學拍攝，我們還去了我以前住的Share House，那裡也有很多屬於我們的回憶。


拍了婚攝以後，一般上大家都會印成照片集，很重很大本的那種。
比起很大本的照片集；我理想中的照片集是小本，容易攜帶的尺寸。

我在大學時有旁聽過攝影課，學過一些照片集的排版。
所以我和富傑要了全部照片，把喜歡的印出來，和太太一起拍版。

印刷是在網上訂購的，
日本的印刷業很進步，我們都很喜歡印出來的效果。

我覺得理想的婚照不應該太“做作”，印刷也不需要太重太大，收起來成灰塵；
而是應該屬於自己的回憶，印小本一點，放在書架上偶爾可以翻開來看。

未婚者は誰かの結婚式に出席する時、
自分の結婚式を想像するのではないかと思います。

私と妻は日本にいるため、
遠距離操作でマレーシアの結婚式の準備を行うのは簡単ではありませんでした。
なので、私たちはなるべくシンブルにしようと努力しましたが、
やはりこだわりたいこともあります。結婚とは一生に一度だけだからです。
忘れる前に、結婚式のストーリーを記録しておきたいと思います。

「結婚記念写真」
理想的な結婚記念写真ってどういったものですか？
マレーシアでは、一般的には結婚する際、結婚記念写真を撮ります。
スタジオで撮る人もいれば、外で撮る人もいます。また、海外旅行をしながら撮る人もいます。
日本ではこういった習慣がないため、妻からは特に要求はありませんでした。

私たちはナチュラルが好きで、且つ妻はポーズをとるのはあまり好きではありません。
だから私たちはナチュラルで思い出のある写真を撮影することにしました。

したがって、
撮影場所を私たちの出会った場所 −東北芸術工科大学にしました。( www.tuad.ac.jp )
写真家は日本語学校のクラスメートだった張さんにお願いをしました。
張さんは台湾出身で、現在有名な写真家です。( www.foiga.com )

わざとらしくなく、ポーズもない、
私たちはただ大学時代の思い出を写真に残したかったのです。
大学の他に、私が住んでいたシェアハウスでも写真を撮りました。
そこにもたくさんの思い出があるからです。

記念写真を撮った後、多くの人々は写真集にします。
大きくて重いタイプの写真集が主流です。
そういった写真集よりも、私の理想的な写真集は、小さくてコンパクトなものです。

大学時代、写真の授業を聴講したことがあって、
写真集を作る際、写真の並び方を少し習いました。
だからお気に入りの写真を全部印刷して、順番を並べました。

印刷は、ネットで注文しました。
日本の印刷技術は高くて、私たちはとても満足しています。

私の理想的な結婚記念写真は、わざとらしくなく、印刷物も大きすぎず、
本当の思い出を撮り、本棚に置けるくらいの大きさで、好きな時に出して見れるようなものです。あなたの理想はどんなものですか？

We went to Taiwan | 我们去了一趟台湾 | 台湾へ行ってきました

"You have so many friends in Taiwan, I guess you have been here for more than 10 times?"
In fact, this is my first visit to Taiwan.
When I was still a student, I didn't want to spend my parents' money to travel; now spending my own money, I feel more at ease.

This trip to Taiwan, the theme was "Friends and Foods"
Finally I met a lot of my old buddies; also enjoyed a lot of nice foods.



Taiwan, similiar to Japan and Malaysia:

I am a Malaysian, my wife is a Japanese and she visited Malaysia twice before.
This trip, we actually felt that Taiwan has a lot of similarities to both Malaysia and Japan.
Buildings on the street look like and Malaysia, while some other elements look like Japan.

For example, signboards and atmosphere in some shops are quite similar to old Chinese shops in Malaysia
For example, in convenience stores and bookstores, you can find many things that can be found in Japan too.


I remember we went into some convenience stores, tried to look for some local foods.
But we found many hot items were written "Directly from Japan".
In bookstores too, most top sellers were translated Japanese books.

In my opinion, many young people in Japan nowadays are afraid of going abroad.
I think Taiwan can be a great first step. Even it's oversea, you don't find too much difference with Japan.

After this trip,
I finally understand why there are so many people like to further their study in Taiwan,
Because in this place, Malaysians could feel very comfortable.



We love the customer service attitude of Taiwan:

Malaysia's customer service attitude is very bad; while Japan's famous of good customer service attitude.
But my wife and I love Taiwanese's customer service attitude.

We worked as waiter and waitress in Japan before.
That's why we understand the pressure of Japan's service industry. Sometimes we think the customer service here is too robotic.
In contrast, we think the customer service attitude of Taiwan seems to be more friendly;
not too serious, but the waiters still do their part, being customer there is very comfortable.



Our next trip journey:

I am so glad that my wife and I both do not like shopping.
Therefore we had more time to see the local life culture, and to find delicious food.
The only regret is that we had too little time for the National Palace Museum and Songshan Culture and Creative Park.
Especially National Palace Museum, everything there was so attractive that we could spend one whole day inside.

We love Taiwan, we definitely will go again.
And the theme for our next trip, we plan to make it "Art and Culture".

“這麼多朋友在這裡，你應該來台灣超過10次了吧？”
其實這是我第一次去台灣旅遊；
唸書的時候，我不想花父母的錢去玩；現在花自己賺的錢去玩感覺比較踏實。

這一趟台灣之旅，主題是“好友和美食”。
終於見到了好多好久不見的朋友；也品嚐到了好多期待已久的美食。



台灣，日本和馬來西亞之間：

我是馬來西亞人，太太是日本人，她跟我去過馬來西亞兩次。
這次去了台灣，我們都覺得台灣和馬來西亞以及日本都有好多相似的地方。
街道上的建築物長得和馬來西亞的好像，而有些元素又和日本相近。

比如說店面的招牌還有里面的氣氛，和馬來西亞一些華人老店都很像。
比如說他們的便利商店還有書局，裡面好多商品和書本都和日本的很像。

記得我們走進便利商店想找一些比較道地的東西，
卻發現熱賣品好多都寫著“日本直送”。
書局也是一樣，被排在最前面的好多都是從日文翻譯的。

當今日本，好像很多年輕人都不敢出國。
我覺得台灣可以是第一步，因為他雖然是外國，但跟日本差異卻不會太大。

這次旅途，
我終於了解為什麼身邊有這麼多人喜歡留學台灣，
因為這個地方真的可以讓馬來西亞人感覺很舒服。



我們好喜歡台灣人的服務態度：

馬來西亞的服務態度是出名的差；日本的服務態度是出名的好，
但我和太太都很喜歡台灣人的服務。

我們都在日本當過侍應生，
我們了解日本服務業的壓力，又或者說有時日本的服務業讓我們覺得有點機械化。
相對之下，我們覺得台灣的服務態度似乎比較人性化；
沒有那麼拘謹，但服務生還是會做好自己的本分，讓顧客很自在。



下一趟旅途：

很慶幸太太和我一樣都是不愛血拼的人。
因此我們有更多時間看看當地人的生活文化，找好吃的食物。
唯一遺憾的，就是我們在故宮博物院和松山文創區的時間太少。
特別是故宮博物院，裡面的文物魅力無法抗拒，大概可以讓我們看足一天的時間。

我們很喜歡台灣，所以我們一定還會再踏入那片土地。
而且下一趟的主題，我們打算讓他成為“藝術與文化”

「台湾にいる友達が多いので、10回以上来たことあるでしょう？」
実は今回が初めてです。
学生時代、親のお金で旅行したくなかったので、ようやく自分で稼いだお金で行ってきました。

今回の旅のテーマは「友人と食べ物」。
しばらく会ってない友達にも会えましたし、美味しい料理もたくさん食べてきました。



台湾、日本とマレーシアの間：

私はマレーシア人で、妻は日本人。妻は２回マレーシアへ行ったことがあります。
今回の旅で、台湾はマレーシアにも日本にも似てる所が多いと感じました。
街中の建物はマレーシアに似ていて、日本に似ている要素もたくさんありました。

例えば、店の看板や雰囲気はマレーシアの中華系老舗に近いです。
例えば、コンビニと書店では、日本の商品がたくさん置いてありました。

私たちは台湾っぽいものを探しにコンビニへ入りましたが、
「日本直輸入」と書いてある商品が多かったです。
書店でも、多くのトップセラーは日本 語からの翻訳本でした。

日本では、海外旅行が怖い若者が多い気がします。
台湾を海外旅行の入門編にすることはいいのではないかと思います。
何故なら、海外ではありますが、まだ日本に近い所が多いからです。

今回の旅で、
ようやく多くのマレーシア人が台湾に留学したがる理由がわかりました。
マレーシア人として、台湾は本当に居心地の良い所です。



私たちは台湾人のサービス業が好き：

マレーシアのサービス業はあまり良くないと思います。それに対して、日本のサービス業はとても良いと思います。
でも私も妻も、台湾のサービス業が好きです。

私たちは二人とも、日本の飲食店で働いたことがあります。
なので日本のサービス業の大変さが理解できます。時々、日本のサービス業は機械的だと感じることもあります。
それとは対照的に、台湾のサビース業はよりフレンドリーだと感じました。
そこまで慎重ではありませんが、やるべきことはきちんとしてくれるので、客としてはとても気楽です。



次回の台湾旅行：

嬉しいことに、妻は私と同じでショッピングが好きな人ではありません。
ですので、地元の人々の生活文化を見る時間や、おいしい食べ物を食べる時間がたくさんありました。
唯一の悔やみは、国立故宮博物院と松山文創園区をゆっくりまわる時間がありませんでした。
特に国立故宮博物院の中の文芸品はとても魅力的で、一日かけてゆっくり見たかったです。

私たちは台湾が大好きになりましたので、絶対にまた遊びに行きます。
次回のテーマを、「芸術と文化」にしようと思います。

Why Cafe? 為何是咖啡館？何故カフェ？

What comes to you when you think of cafe? 

Looking back to some articles I wrote in the past, 
I once again realised that I still love writing.
Probably it's because I always like to think a lot, 
and I also like to communicate with people.

I am very lucky to have the opportunity to go abroad for my dream.
Since I am far away from home, it makes me think even more.
Feared of the changes, I decided to write my thinking down, leaving some traces. 

To me, cafe is a place where you can relax and think.
You do not need to go everyday , occasionally is enough.
But every time you walk into a cafe, you know you are going to obtain something.

I hope this blog is like a cafe, 
I do not have to write everyday ; you do not have to check it everyday.
The ideal is that every article makes you think about something.

你覺得咖啡館是個怎麼樣的地方？

翻閱回以前寫的文章，發現自己還是喜歡寫作。
大概是因為我喜歡思考，也喜歡和別人交流。

我很幸福，有機會出國追夢；
背井離鄉也就特別容易感觸。
害怕當下的思緒隨著歲月而改變，
所以我決定把他們化為文字，留下痕跡。

我覺得咖啡館是個讓人放鬆思考的地方；
不需要天天去，偶爾就夠了；
但是每一次進入咖啡館都有所得。

希望這個部落格就像咖啡館一樣；
我不需要天天寫；你不需要天天看。
理想的是每一篇文章都能讓你我思考。

カフェとはどういう物だと思いますか？

昔書いた文章を振り返ったら、やはり書くことが好きだと再認識しました。
それは頭の中で常に何かを考えれいるのと、
他人とコミュニケーションをするのが好きだからだと思います。

私は幸せで、海外で自分の夢を追いかけるチャンスをもらいました。
恐らく、国から遠くまで来たから、余計いろいろ考えるようになります。
今の思考が変わるのが怖くて、文字にして、痕跡を残したいと思いました。

私にとって、カフェとはリラックスして思考できる場所です。
毎日行く必要はありません、たまに行けばいいです。
でも行く度、何かを得ることができます。

このブログがカフェのようなものにしたいです。
私は毎日書く必要がありませんし、あなたも毎日読む必要がありません。
理想なのは、全ての文章が人を考えさせることができることです。
